Travel, to me, isn’t just about visiting new places. It’s about opening up to the world in ways that change you. It’s about finding new perspectives towards life and surroundings, learning about different cultures, and creating memories that stay with you forever. And when you are a mother, you want your kids to understand it all. And that’s exactly what happened when I traveled to Thailand with my kids. I wanted my kids to explore in real life what I have always heard about the country's beaches, temples, and fabulous food, and thus had this urge to explore this captivating land in Southeast Asia come to mind. And truly speaking, I am not disappointed at all.

I made this Thailand tour plan especially for my kids and had one of the best experiences. We have strengthened our bond across the journey with each step. From the vibrant streets of Bangkok to the serene beaches of Phuket, this trip was nothing short of magical. It felt like stepping into a world that was so different yet so welcoming. Not only the country but the kind of support we got from our tour operator Regency Holidays and Sangeet, our tour coordinator, was commendable. We would truly recommend Thailand tour packages to everyone and here’s why!

Day 1: The Day We Landed in Bangkok – The City That Never Sleeps

  • Arrival in Bangkok at Suvarnabhumi Airport
  • Evening Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise
  • On-board delicious Thai buffet dinner

I’ll never forget the moment we landed in Bangkok and cannot forget the first sight of the city that felt alive in every sense. The air was warm, thick with the smells of street food and the hum of tuk-tuks racing by. It was a little overwhelming at first, but we couldn’t help but smile. There’s something about the energy of a place like this that makes you feel alive too.

We were welcomed by a professional driver at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, and he guided us to the hotel, booked with our Thailand trip package. The very first concern that arises when you travel with kids is about the hotel and this has been taken care of awesomely. Our hotel was a cozy, modern hotel right in the heart of the city. After settling in, we were really not able to hold ourselves from the first activity we were going to indulge in. By the time the sun set on the horizon, we hopped on the famous Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Bangkok behind. It was unlike anything we’d ever experienced before.

The city looked so stunning from the cruise that I cannot put it in words. The illuminated skyline of Bangkok, like the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, looks like poetry written on the riverside.

I had researched about Thai delicacies while planning the trip, so could not resist trying delicious Thai buffet dinner on the cruise.  The palatable dishes made with fresh herbs hit all the right notes and are still in the memory of our tastebuds. Tell you something, by this time, we were already in love with the Thai food! This cruise gave us opportunity to meet beautiful people, relishing scrumptious Thai delicacies, and treating our eyes with enchantment of Bangkok’s allure.

P.S.: Our day one was truly a wonderful start of this tour in Thailand.

Day 2: A Journey Through Bangkok’s Rich History

A Journey Through Bangkok’s Rich History
  • Half Day Golden Buddha and Marble Buddha Tour
  • Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

Second day of our Thailand tour is about diving deep into Bangkok’s rich history. We had a delicious breakfast at the buffet of our hotel’s restaurant and got ourselves ready for a city tour. We set out early for a half-day tour where we were about to see 2 of the city’s most famous temples. Our first stop was the Golden Buddha. It felt almost unreal to stand in front of this 5.5-ton golden statue. It was bigger and more breathtaking than I’d imagined, and the atmosphere around the temple was serene. You won’t believe what my kids were doing there. They were excited to see such a huge statue but at the same time were quiet, taking in the sheer beauty and power of the place. Surprising for me!

Next, we visited the Marble Buddha, one of the best places to visit in Bangkok. The peacefulness here was intense that everything about the temple seemed calm and reflected the same to our soul. The details on the marble statue were exquisite, and I found myself completely mesmerized by its quiet, majestic presence.

But the highlight of the day was our trip to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. I had heard about this market from my friends and reaching here was like bringing the image into reality. The idea of a market on water seemed like something out of a fairy tale. We climbed aboard a long-tail boat and glided along the narrow canals. Everywhere we looked, there were vendors paddling their boats, selling everything from fresh fruit to handmade crafts. The colors were vibrant, the sounds were lively, and the smells—oh, the smells—were incredible. Coconut ice cream served in a half coconut? A definite favorite and unseen!

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

I must add one thing, the shopkeeper by whom I had bought souvenirs, was one-armed, so I did not try to haggle with him and would be a request from you too to show some generosity towards such people around you. We learned so much today, from the history of the Golden Buddha to the bustling life of the floating market. It was a perfect mix of culture and adventure, and by the time we headed back to the hotel, we felt like we had seen a true slice of Bangkok’s heart.

P.S.:

  • Bargaining is a winning game here, so you must negotiate the price before payment
  • You know the best part about it, you can get up to 50% discount on your purchase
  • Negotiate while booking a Tuk Tuk

Day 3: Exploring Bangkok’s Vibrant Streets

Exploring Bangkok’s Vibrant Streets
  • Self-guided exploration of Bangkok
  • Chinatown and Chatuchak Market
  • Savoring authentic Thai cuisine

We have been offered a day to spend at our own pace exploring more of Bangkok’s vibrant neighborhoods on our tour to Thailand. So, after enjoying a wonderful breakfast at our hotel, we took our first step towards - Chinatown. Walking through the narrow streets, we were surrounded by gold shops, colorful signs, and the intoxicating smells of street food. The best part? Everything was fresh and bursting with flavor and open to bargaining.

Chatuchak Market

Next, we ventured to Chatuchak Market, one of the largest markets in the world. I had read so much about it before the trip but was nothing in front of what we had in front of our eyes. I was not prepared for the sheer size and variety of things it offered. You can find absolutely anything here—clothing, souvenirs, antiques, toys, even plants. The kids and I loved looking exploring the shops having beautiful handmade items.

In the afternoon, we explored more of the city’s street food scene. I think the best part about food markets is that you can just dive into the culture by tasting everything. Pad Thai, spicy curry, grilled meats, and the freshest fruit—everything was so vibrant and full of life. We loved it all, especially the coconut shakes.

By the end of the day, our feet were sore, our bellies were full, we returned to the hotel. Let me tell you something, we couldn’t stop talking about everything we’d seen and tasted this day.

P.S.: I came to this conclusion- Bangkok is a city that never stopped giving, all that you need to do is, Ask!

Day 4: From Bangkok to Phuket – A New Adventure Begins

From Bangkok to Phuket
  • Transfer from Bangkok to Phuket
  • Cultural theme park- Phuket FantaSea Show

We woke up early, got ready, and had our breakfast before checking out of the hotel. Today, we left the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and flew to Phuket. It was a domestic flight, booked with our package. The flight was short and smooth, and as we arrived, we were greeted by the warm tropical air and the tour representative. Our first hotel in Phuket was not up to the mark but after a quick conversation with our tour coordinator Sangeet, everything returned to perfect. Our hotel was a peaceful place to unwind with a pool view.

Phuket FantaSea Show

After spending some time in the hotel unwinding, we went to the Phuket FantaSea Show in the evening. It’s this huge cultural theme park with an incredible show that blends traditional Thai music and dance with modern special effects. The kids were wide-eyed, taking in all the lights, colors, and performances. There were elephants, dancers, and acrobats that amazed us all. It felt like stepping into another world which is full of magic and wonder.

After the show, we went back to the hotel, and as we sat on the balcony looking out at the moonlit pool, we realized just how lucky we were. Thailand was already so much more than we expected.

Day 5: Phuket City Tour and the Tiger Kingdom

Phuket City Tour and the Tiger Kingdom
  • Wat Chalong, a beautiful Buddhist temple
  • Big Buddha, a giant statue
  • Tiger Kingdom an Animal Park

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we were to go on a tour of Phuket’s top attractions. Our first stop was Wat Chalong, a beautiful Buddhist temple. It had a sense of peace that you could almost touch, and the colors and decorations were stunning. I decided to stay for a while so that we could learn about the temple's history and its importance to the local people.

Then we visited the Big Buddha, a giant statue that sits atop a hill, offering panoramic views of the island. I had always seen this statue in videos and read about it while researching for this tour and now I was in front of it. When I climbed the steps, truly speaking, Phuket looked like a real postcard with lush green hills, sparkling beaches, and the deep blue ocean. We stayed for a while, just soaking it all in and taking a lot of photos.

Big Buddha

In the afternoon, we visited the Tiger Kingdom, and I can honestly say it was one of the most exciting experiences of the trip. We got to see tigers up close and even took photos with them! The kids were both thrilled and scared, but the staff at Tiger Kingdom made sure everything was safe. It was incredible to see such majestic creatures up close and learn more about their conservation.

By the time we got back to the hotel, we were all exhausted but filled with memories of a day full of culture, adventure, and wonder during our Thailand family trip.

Day 6: Phi Phi Islands – An Absolute Dream

Phi Phi Islands
  • Boat trip to the famous Phi Phi Islands
  • Maya Bay, the famous beach
  • Thai lunch on an Island

We savored our breakfast in the hotel booked with our Thailand family holiday packages and took a boat trip to the famous Phi Phi Islands. I’d seen pictures of these islands before, but nothing could have prepared me for the real thing. The water was so clear and blue, it looked like a dream. As we sailed past towering cliffs and tiny islands, I couldn’t help but think this might be the most beautiful place on Earth.

We stopped at Maya Bay, the famous beach from the movie “The Beach”. It was everything I had imagined with soft white sand, crystal-clear water, and a peaceful quiet that made it feel like we had stepped into another world.

We spent the day snorkeling in the vibrant coral reefs, and I couldn’t get enough of the colorful fish swimming all around us. The kids did not agree to come out of the water, but energy was required so we had lunch on one of the islands. By this time, we had fallen in love with the delicious Thai food and what could be more worthy when it is served right by the water. It was the perfect day of relaxation and natural beauty.

P.S.: As the boat headed back to Phuket, I couldn’t help but reflect on how lucky we were to experience something so breathtaking. The Phi Phi Islands truly felt like paradise.

Day 7: Self-declared Rest Day in Phuket

  • A self-made leisure day (We stayed in hotel than going to James Bond Island)

After so many exciting days, we decided to take a break from the rush of exploring islands and activities. However, our original plan was to visit James Bond Island, but the kids were a little tired, and we were happy to spend a more relaxed day. We stayed at the hotel, enjoying the pool and exploring the nearby areas.May be, we had miss few of the best experiences like exploring James Bond Island, cruise to Phang Nga Bay, kayaking through lagoons, and National Park but truly speaking sometimes stepping back is worth it.

As they say, sometimes, the best part of a journey is just slowing down and taking everything in. Our cancellation of excursions turned out to be just what we needed. We spent the day chatting, resting, and enjoying each other’s company, and it felt like the perfect way to recharge.

Day 8: We Said Bye Bye to Thailand – Until We Meet Again

  • Time to return Home
  • Recollecting memories

The last day of a tour is always one of the saddest days because now we were about to leave Thailand and our last day in Thailand arrived far too quickly. As the sun rose over the horizon, we couldn’t help but feel that lump in our throats—it was time to say goodbye to Thailand. The past week had flown by in a whirlwind of vibrant cityscapes, crystal-clear waters, and unforgettable experiences.

When I recall the tour- from the buzzing streets of Bangkok, where we tasted street food that danced on our taste buds, to the peaceful beaches of Phi Phi, where the sunsets seemed to paint the sky just for us, Thailand had woven itself into the fabric of our memories.

As we packed our bags and took our last ride to the airport, we couldn’t help but talk excitedly about everything included in our 7 nights 8 days Thailand family tour package, from the epic Pad Thai we savored in Chiang Mai to swim in the turquoise waters of Koh Phi Phi. We couldn’t stop being nostalgic about the temples we’d explored, the markets we’d wandered through, and the moments that had made us laugh and be amazed. Each experience had felt so vivid, so alive, and we knew we’d be chasing that feeling for a long time.

The warmth of Thailand wasn’t just in the weather—it was in the kindness of its people, the spirit of its culture, and the way the land seemed to embrace you. As the plane began its ascent and we caught our last glimpse of the coastline, we promised ourselves one thing: this wouldn't be the end.

We have shouted out loud - Goodbye for now, Thailand. You’ve stolen a piece of our hearts, and we’ll carry you with us until we can return.

Until next time, we'll be counting the days!
